Improve Your Default Scenery in Microsoft Flight Simulator X

Microsoft Flight Simulator X, or as it's well known - FSX can be somewhat "dry" when it comes to scenery and attentional to detail with either default airports or landmark areas in the virtual world.  One of the easiest ways to improve on the default is to download and install third party add-ons such as replacement airports, mesh scenery or terrain resolution enhancements.

You can get two types: payware and freeware.
Payware scenery is usually more detailed, with more time and attention in the add-on; mainly because it has been developed for sale and customers paying for the product expect a "better" product when they pay for it.  However, there are may freeware packages that have been created by avid flight sim developers that are just as good - it's just finding them.

You can download freeware scenery over at Fly Away Simulation, while their sister store SimShack.net sell many payware scenery titles.
